Who is your chief storyteller?Posted on September 28, 2015 by Alia McKee Who in your organization is responsible for telling your stories? Your Communications Director? Your Development Director? Your Digital Content Manager? Your Grant Writer? Storytelling is so central to donor engagement and brand building, there must clearly be someone in charge of it. This person doesn’t have to find all the stories — that’s the job of everyone on staff. But your Chief Storyteller should be tasked with developing stories with clear and compelling narratives and distributing them to any staff person who could use a fresh anecdote. Imagine having a fresh well of stories about your beneficiaries, your grassroots members, your victories, your challenges… It will only happen when someone knows it’s their job to make it happen.
