I like Care2 a lot, and some of my favorite people in the industry work there.  But it’s not good for you — or really them for that matter — if we treat Care2 as the only source of activist and donor leads in town.

As this article attests, the lead generation business is exploding.  Care2 names are expensive, but tend to convert well enough to make them a competitive source of potential donors and activists.  And, as Care2 will quickly tell you, they are more than a co-registration house, though I confess i sometimes have trouble wrapping my head fully around the “more” part.

So here’s my question — who among you have experimented with alternative co-reg sources?  How much did yo pay for leads?  How well did they convert?  Any sharing with the class you’d like to do would be gratefully accepted!
