cutting through the SEO crap

There are few regions of internetland more mysterious, confusing and bs-laden than search engine optimization.  Today’s ClickZ effectively cuts through the clutter.  You want better rankings?

  • Make sure the keywords you care about feature prominently on key pages (in text, not graphic form)
  • Make sure your site structure can be grokked by search engines when they index your site
  • Get lots of links to your home page and other important pages.  Bonus points for getting your target keywords included as part of the link text.  This is easier than ever with blogs and whatnot.

The rest for the most part is expensive consultant mumbo-jumbo.  Spend your precious dollars on keyword marketing instead!
