Yeah – they are good for a laugh, but when it comes to social causes, animated gifs aren’t my style. But I’m seeing a ton of marketers — many of whom want the attention of my demographic — using them to get my attention.
Instead, those gifs are turning me off.
Just because it works for Buzzfeed, doesn’t mean it will work for your donors.
Remember, your donors are older. And while they are online, they have different attitudes towards content they consume than do younger generations.
So yes – if you must, test the GIF. But don’t surprised if that funny meme isn’t a fundraising firecracker.
