Orange – the color that reminds me of creamsicles, the
University of Texas, construction signs and Halloween
is now calling much needed attention to the plight of
urban decay. What?

Check out what a group of artists in Detroit is doing
to call the city’s attention to the slew of abandoned
buildings that have became drug havens and dangerous
neighborhood playgrounds. Poverty, white flight, and
ambivalence can’t hide under the shiny orange coat of
“Tiggerific” paint.

Okay, endorsed civil disobedience most likely isn’t in
the cards for your non profit or cause. But this
reminds me that creativity, nerve and a little
mischief can do a lot for a little.
