Treating donors like $hit is bad fundraising

Because chances are, you’re treating your donors like $hit.
Here’s the problem: knowing and doing are two different things.
Before you get all triggered, if you are treating your donors like $hit, it’s largely due to forces beyond your control. If there’s one thing we’ve learned in recent years, getting C-level staff and EDs to agree to invest in stewardship is a hard hard sell.
This is a critical conversation to be having right now, as progressive groups watch dollars and donors pour in. It’s not going to be like this forever, and unless you invest now, today, in building relationships with your new recruits, you’re going to lose the vast majority of them within a year or two.
On the one hand it’s not rocket science. You know the answers. On the other hand we’re talking culture change, and culture change is hard.
