In my neighborhood, there are three Thai restaurants on the same street within three blocks of each other.

The menus are pretty similar. The prices are pretty similar. The decor and ambiance are pretty similar. But we also go to Myrtle Thai (which is actually the furthest one from our house).

Why? Because of the greeting we get.

Whether dining in or taking out, every time we go into the restaurant, the host yells out warmly, “Hello! Welcome!”  It’s in a sweet voice that sounds genuinely happy to feed us. It makes the question “which Thai restaurant?” moot.

Like it or not, your non profit is competing with another non profit. How do you stand out?
